Link Building
Link building, Google rankings and external links
Google determines if your website is one of authority by how many incoming links you have to your website. Not only how many links, but the quality of the links. Do they come from a reliable source. What are those links saying. In short, if you have a lot of quality links pointing to your website, you will rank well in organic search.
SEO is a competition
Its important to remember that Search Engine Optimization is a competition, so, you should be thinking about what your competition is successful at, then apply that to your own strategy.
There is a proper way to build quality links.
Remember that you are looking for quality not quantity. It is important to look at factors such as the age of a domain, if the links come from .edu or .gov sources, the relationship to your websites subject matter, and if the links are ranking well for keywords that you are targeting.
Anchor text
Choosing the right anchor text for your links plays a role in ranking you higher for the keywords that you are targeting.
